Strawberryfrog Amsterdam wins Emirates

After a long and hard few months of working with some hugely talented people, Strawberryfrog Amsterdam has won the pitch for Emirates.

Ad Age, Campaign, Brand Republic etc etc have all written about this brilliant piece of news.

From this win comes another piece of brilliant news… SF Amsterdam are now looking to hire some highly talented people from all walks of the advertising / digital / communications spectrum.

Creatives / Designers / Planners / Accounts and Digital wizards are all being asked to send their CV’s and cover letters for the roles being advertised.

Art & Copy (the film) is coming to Amsterdam

Doug Pray‘s film Art & Copy will premier at a plush cinema location in the heart of Amsterdam on Friday 26th February. This brilliant piece of work has been wowing audiences all across America since last year, so to see it air in Amsterdam is a must (if you can,that is!)

This one-off occasion is being screened and presented by Amsterdam’s very own Strawberryfrog and MediaCatalyst. Tickets are limited and unfortunately by invite only, so if you’re in the know, you’ll already have your invite, or, you’ll know the person to contact to get one!

Hats off to SF & MC for bringing the film across the water, a tremendous initiative on their behalf… And congratulations to those lucky people who get to see the film! Myself being one of them

You’ve had enough of working late nights, long weekends and getting pretty much nothing in return, apart from a deep resentment for the agency and people you work for.
The creative director doesn’t like your work, or, if he/she does, the account people can’t sell your work, so the client constantly rejects it…

The JobVine is easy: Simply keep your friends and close contacts in the loop about possible jobs and freelance opportunities that you hear about.

Portfolio Night – Creative Bites

Each creative director from Portfolio Night was sent a small questionnaire to fill out regarding what we were expecting from Portfolio Night, what advice we could give to the students and what it was like for us when we started out as juniors.

Here are my answers.

Portfolio Night 7 – Amsterdam

June 11th 2009 – 7 p.m.

Gathered inside the Amsterdam offices of Sid Lee, the next generation of young creatives got to met a bunch of us creative directors to show their work and get valuable feedback. The event went brilliantly and I’m sure some creatives will get jobs from the meetings that they had.

Personally for me, I got to meet:

Two great creative teams from the UK, a talented team from Italy, a Dutch designer with a lovely idea for a board game, a Dutch creative team who will be snapped up in no time, a Portuguese copywriter who really wants a new art partner, a Danish copywriter with some great fresh thinking and a Portuguese art director who will have a great book if he just tweaks it a tad further.

I also got to meet and talk with Ignacio Oreamuno from ihaveanidea.org. who was a key figure in getting this successful night up and running. For more information on what all the fuss is/was about at Portfolio Night go to the Portfolio Night website.
